The Roots and A Tribe Called Quest coming together to kick a little freestyle on what appears to be some random public access show. The flows are far from mind blowing, but I just love this video for the feel of 90s hip hop. I’m kinda sad that this isn’t the path that mainstream hip hop/rap has followed. I wish that people in the public eye would keep it real and not live so lavishly (not to say these guys dont indulge a little, but I cant think of a big name today that would go on a show like this), these guys are legends in the game but still realize the importance of associating with the common folk… Also the message at the end of the video, positive/thought provoking hip hop has so much more soul than popular hip hop today… One day large record labels will realize the mistake they are making. Until then I’ll keep my radio off.
